Anaheim, Calif. – Anaheim, Calif. - Lasco Bathware teams with an industrial design firm to offer a contemporary series of bath fixtures. Lasco's new Contours line will debut at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas, May 10-12. Offering a simplistic, minimalist style, the Contours line was inspired, in part, by the new BMW Z4. Lasco worked with Los Angeles design firm Blue Design to develop the five luxury bathtubs. "We asked Blue Design to perform their own market research, so they could develop designs that would take us beyond the current marketplace," says Fred Adams, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Lasco Bathware. "We've created a new generation of bathware fixtures. There is nothing like this on the market."

Like the BMW Z4, the high design fixtures feature soft concave surfaces, metallic finishes and surface tension details. "We approached the design with a subtractive philosophy, to simplify it," explains Ray Smith, president of Blue Design. "The designs are simple and clean with a modern movement and direction. They offer something familiar, but with a fresh look."

Contours carefully balances form with function to provide both design quality and technical precision. "Function is basic for every design. Our design was ergonomically driven to fit the human form," says Smith. "The line also makes a style statement with a distinct personality."

The Contours line includes Euro-styled acrylic showers in 36-, 48- and 60-inch widths and a 60-inch tub/shower unit. The showers have optional steam and body spray systems while a whirlpool system can be added to the tub/shower for an invigorating, hydrotherapy massage. The quiet, yet powerful Contour tubs feature an air bubbler system with adjustable heat levels and one-touch functionality.

This luxury product line is a new venture for Lasco. As the largest supplier of bathware fixtures in the United States, Lasco is known for supplying large product volumes to big builders, wholesalers and retailers. "Contours will redefine Lasco," says Adams. "We're targeting kitchen and bath designers and the custom home market to offer products that inspire bath design rather than conform to it."
